It’s Earth Month 🌍✨
A whole month dedicated to the planet, I can’t think of a better opportunity to learn about how our fashion choices impact our environment.
So I wanted to kick things off this month in style with something super simple (but kind of thought-provoking) called a Life Cycle Assessment or LCA.
Most of us, myself included, don’t often think about our clothes having a ‘life’. We see them on the rack, on the shelf, or on our screen, and the story behind them stays invisible.
My intention is not to share this in a heavy, overwhelming way. But in a “this is actually interesting and empowering” kind of way.
🌍 LCA - Life Cycle Assessment 🌍
It’s basically the full journey of every piece of clothing, bag, pair of shoes you own.
Not just what it is - but where it came from, how it sourced, what it took to make it, and where it goes after you. The full life cycle is something more of us are really start to think about & consider.
Here’s the quick version:
• Materials - what it’s made from, how the materials are sourced
• Manufacturing - not just how it’s produced, but where and by who
• Assembly & Packaging - all of the elements that go into packaging, how it’s finished & delivered
• Transportation - how it gets to you
• Use - how you wear and care for it
• End of life - what happens when you’re done with it
That’s it.
When you start looking at things this way… you don’t really see products the same anymore (in a good way 👀)
And I broke it all down!

If you’ve ever been curious about the real impact behind what you buy - this is the perfect place to start.
Nature does so much for us, let’s make Earth month really count this year 🤍
