Perfectly Imperfect: We're all about Progess OVER Perfection!

Okay, let's be real for a minute. Nobody's perfect. Not you, not me, not even that Instagram influencer with the perfectly curated feed. And the word SUSTAINABLE we need to throw it out! After all, the most sustainable thing we can do is to buy nothing at all, and what fun would that be?

But you know what? It's totally okay! In fact, it's kind of amazing. Because if we were all striving for some unattainable level of perfection, life would be pretty darn boring. Imagine a world where everyone was decked out in organic cotton monk robes, walking barefoot, and subsisting solely on kale smoothies. No thanks!

For example, sometimes we want a coffee to go and we don't always have our reusable mug on us,  sometimes we're dying of thirst and although we cringe at the thought of buying a plastic water bottle - it's the only option (while making a note to self not to forget our bottle next time)! Sometimes we make an unplanned stop at the grocery and don't have our reusable bags (annoying), and other times we just want to buy that cute top from Zara or H&M and not feel bad or guilty about it.

Here at Voes & Co., we embrace the perfectly imperfect. We believe in striving for better, not for best. Because let's face it, "best" is a moving target, a constantly evolving ideal that's impossible to pin down. It's like chasing a rainbow – beautiful, elusive, and ultimately out of reach.

So, instead of chasing perfection, we're focusing on progress. We're committed to creating vegan shoes, boots, and sustainable footwear that are stylish, comfortable, and kind to the planet. But we're also realistic about the challenges. We know that sustainable fashion isn't always easy, and that there's always room for improvement.

Why We're Ditching the "Perfect" and Embracing the "Good"

Think about it: if we waited for perfection, we'd never get anything done! We'd be stuck in a perpetual cycle of analysis paralysis, endlessly researching the most sustainable materials, the most ethical factories, the most eco-friendly packaging.

And while all of those things are important, we also believe in taking action. We believe in making progress, even if it's not perfect. Because even small steps can make a big difference.

Here are a few simple ways to embrace the perfectly imperfect in your own life:

Support ethical brands: Vote with your wallet by supporting brands that align with your values. Look for companies that are committed to sustainability, fair labor practices, and cruelty-free products.

Be mindful: but don't be afraid to make mistakes: We all mess up sometimes. The important thing is to be as mindful and intentional as possible when you are buying or consuming anything. This includes everything from that new designer purse to the glass of wine at dinner - take a pause to thing - why do you want it, is it aligned with your values, and is there a better option?

Choose sustainable swaps: Start small by swapping out a few of your everyday items for more sustainable alternatives. Choose a plant based diet and lifestyle as much as possible - hint: vegan shoes instead of traditional animal leather or sued, opt for a reusable water bottles and coffee mugs (stainless steel), bring your own bags to the grocery store to reduce plastic and paper bags.

Be kind to yourself: Remember, nobody's perfect. Don't beat yourself up if you slip up occasionally. Just focus on doing your best and making progress, one step at a time.

Here's how we're embracing the perfectly imperfect:

We use plant based leather: It's a fantastic alternative to traditional leather and better than fully plastic vegan leather, but it's not without its challenges and it's certainly not perfect. We're constantly learning and exploring new options to make our material even more sustainable and of course luxurious.

We prioritize recycled materials: We're always on the lookout for innovative recycled materials to incorporate into our designs. But we also know that not all recycled materials are created equal. We carefully evaluate each material to ensure it meets our standards for quality and sustainability.

We're transparent about our process: We believe in being open and honest about our journey towards sustainability. We share our challenges and our successes, because we know that transparency is key to building trust.

So, what does this all mean for you? It means that you can feel good about wearing Voes & Co. vegan shoes vegan boots and vegan sneakers. You can trust that we're committed to creating stylish, sustainable footwear that's kind to the planet.

But it also means that you don't have to be perfect to make a difference. You don't have to live in a yurt and wear hemp clothing to be an eco-warrior. (Although, hey, if that's your thing, more power to you!)

So, ditch the obsession over perfection idealism and embrace your perfectly imperfect self!

Let's create a world where sustainability is accessible to everyone, where we can all make a difference, even if it's not perfect. After all, progress over perfection, right?
