I had the immense pleasure of getting to know Amanda in Tuscany on one of The Getaway Co's trips. It's remarkable to see how she has curated fully vegan experiences in the most sought after places around the world that attracts the most kind-hearted vegans to come together to enjoy travel, food and friendship.

Q: When did you first go Vegan?
A: I first went vegetarian as an 8 year old child in the 90s, then flip flopped until finally fully committing to Veganism in 2018.

Q: What happened, what was the reason you chose to go Vegan?
A:  I live my life vegan because I believe that animals deserve to be treated kindly, fairly and with compassion. I don’t believe that they deserve to be treated as products, abused and exploited.

Q: How did you feel when you made the decision to go Vegan?
A: I believe I was always destined to be vegan as my first indication I was doing something wrong was as a child. But I do have vegan friends that inspired me to fully commit. I think like everyone, you experience a mix of feelings and level of support from various friends and family. Some are incredibly supportive, some are not. The longer you're vegan though, I do find it harder to tolerate viewing the omnis participating in horrible animal cruelty and suffering.

Q: What 3 words best describe how you felt?
A: More ethically sound.

Q: What was the hardest food for you to 'give up'?
A:
Probably cheese. But again, the longer you're vegan, the more I think you are repulsed by animal products.

Q: What do you find the most challenging about being around non vegan people?
A:  Having to watch them willingly participate in the horrible suffering required to consume animal products.

Q: What's it like being Vegan in Switzerland?
A: Living in Switzerland has it's challenges like anywhere, it's definitely a dairy motivated country. With that said, the Swiss can be quite health conscious and politically minded and there are lots of vegan restaurants, many many vegan products in the supermarket, and people are open minded and understanding in all the big cities.

Q: What's your favourite animal?
A: Cat

Q: What's your favourite food or what do you eat the most, at least 3+ times a week?
A:
Various forms of soup and Thai food.

Q: What do you find is most challenging when it comes to Vegan Fashion?
A: Finding anything thats comparable quality to mid range to high end brands that produce goods with animal products. Super frustrating.

Q: Can you share 3-5 of your favourite Vegan Brands or Products?
A:  New Roots (Swiss cheese brand), Planted (Swiss vegan meat product), and maybe our friend's chocolate brand Kuerzi Kakao because in Switzerland we might die without these things.

Q: What was the craziest thing that someone has said about being Vegan?
A:
That they eat or like don't vegan food. Obviously a lie.

Q: As a Fierce female, what do you consider to be your #1 Super Power?
A: The genuine belief that anything is possible in this life if you work for it. :)

Q: What's your BHAG? (Big Harry Audacious Goal) (optional)
ATo inspire everyone on earth to go vegan!

Q: What's your spirit animal?
A: Cat

Q: What's your go to Vegan thing that you share?
A: We definitely point people to Earthling Ed a lot. I admire his patience and ability to eloquently relay the facts in such a digestible manner.

Q: The #1 reason you are Vegan:
A: For the Animals
